Ancient Ohio Art Series ~ Paleoindian Period

This is an illustration by artist Susan Walton of S. A. Walton Studio, Hudson, Florida, of what a Paleo Indian caribou-hunting encampment may have looked like in ancient Ohio circa 14,000 to 10,000 BP, as derived from information from Paleo Indian sites such as Ohio’s Nobles Pond, Paleo Crossing, and Sheridan Cave, and Maine’s Vail Site.

It was created as part of Voyageur Media’s Ancient Ohio Art Series and used in Dr. Bradley Lepper’s book, Ohio Archaeology.
