I need to post a better image when I can get a print off an oversized negative in my records. This is a North American badger in a thick patch of bluebells, a painting inspired by a bluebell-loving carpenter friend in Illinois. The painting itself is inspired by a mutual friend, an old Navy SERE school instructor nicknamed Mountain Mel, with whom I went mushroom hunting one spring. North American badgers are quite different from the European badger both in looks and in diet.
